Michael Heatley edited the acclaimed History of Rock partwork (1981-84). He is the author of ove one hundred music biographies, ranging from Bon Jovi to Rolf Harris, as well as books on sport and TV. His respected biography of late DJ John Peel sold over 100,000 copies.
He has penned liner notes to more than two hundred CD reissues, and written for magazines including Music Week, Billboard, Goldmine, Radio Times and the Mail on Sunday colour supplement. Celebrities he has interviewed over his career include Slash, Hank Marvin, Dolly Parton, George Best, Jan Ban Jovi, Roger Daltrey and the Four Tops.
His son, Drew, also a freelance journalist and a lifelong Michael Jackson fan, assisted him in penning this tribute to one of music's all-time greats.
